Deborah Patton Executive Director, Applied Brilliance LLC
Deborah Patton is Executive Director and creator of Applied Brilliance LLC. She initially developed the conference to support two Nielsen Business Media industry magazines, Architecture and Interiors; the conference now lives on under her ownership.
As an innovator in strategic marketing and communications, Deborah develops and produces unique thought-leadership events that push the limits of creativity and innovation. She believes that the lynchpin to resilience in any creative discipline is to listen attentively to experts outside of your field, step outside of your own comfort zone, and recognize the patterns of seemingly unconnected threads of emerging global trends as harbingers of cultural change.
With in-depth experience in a range of consumer markets, she has played leading roles at iconic media brands including Town & Country, House & Garden, Connoisseur, Modern Bride, and Seventeen. She has also led marketing and communications strategies for business media brands including Architecture, Interiors, Contract, The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Adweek, Brandweek and Mediaweek.
Deborah is also a writer and active in professional organizations, serving on the Board of Directors of Fashion Group International and the International Advisory Council of Counterpart International, a Washington, D.C.-based humanitarian NGO. She also serves on the Endowment Committee of the Cooke Center Academy, a school for children with learning disabilities.
